Professional mastering is a process of gaining the quality completeness and sound depth. It is a final stage of processing. During sound mastering even the smallest sound defects are being detected. In order to receive the sound design deeper, warmer, more transparent and natural, the records are being thoroughly processed. Frequency and dynamic response is being equalized. Any noise is being eliminated. Imbalances in stereo panorama are being corrected. And homophony of album tracks/ collection (even with diverse material) is being achieved. After mastering audio will sound cleaner and tighter, more vividand professional with any, not even professional sound-reproducing equipment.

Everybody is mistaken who believes that mastering allows correcting any recording failures. If the track was initially poorly mixed, it contains raw balance errors of the instrument, nonlinear distortions on individual mix elements and on the mix as a whole, excessive compression (both individual instruments, and mix as a whole), excess reverb (in most cases), fake execution you must first make quality studio mixing tracks in these cases.

Unfortunately, mastering cannot correct the errors of track producer, if he has sent a master track. Therefore, first of all, hearing failures while track reducing, we offer mixing service before mastering. It is a processing of each instrument in the track and recovery of pure “conflict-free” sound.

How to prepare and send a track for Mastering?

  1. Send Wav or Aiff files over 16bit 44,1kHz.
  2. No compressor, limiter, or equalizer in Master section.
  3. General volume level should not exceed -6db.
  4. Include 1-2 reference tracks (mp3 320kbps will do) that sound good to your ear and will be the example of what you want to get.
  5. Add the files to the archive with the name «#Order_number – Your email» (e.g. #1283 –
dj@yahoo.com) and upload it to our website by any mean convenient to you. Place and pay your order adding it to the cart and following the instructions of the system.

After processing you will get a Wav 44100hz 16bit and Mp3 320kbps mastered files.

Simplified instructions (in case you don’t really have basic technical knowledge)

Here’s what we need from you:

  1. Your Wav track (or Aiff)
  2. Two tracks by other authors that sound good to your ears (mp3 files will do)
  3. Send us a RAR archive with folder with the following files in it with the name «#Order_number – Your email» (e.g. #1283 –

Detailed processing of each instrument

  • Deadline: 2-5 business days
  • Warranty: 30-60 days
  • 20% discount for orders with 3 or more songs (Standard and Pro Pack plans)

Track mixing is a track processing “from the inside“. This work cannot be done only at the stage of mastering. First of all it is a quality equalization, compression and balance alignment of each track path. Just at this stage we can work best at your track. In particular we can make it clear, tight and ambient in order to add natural sounding without “plastic effect”. The next mandatory step is a mastering.

How to prepare and send a track for Mixing? (with or without mastering)

  1. Send Wav or Aiff files over 16bit 44,1kHz.
  2. Each instrument should be exported as a separate track with the same length that the full track from 0:00:00 sec.
  3. Equalizers, compressors, limiters and reverberators should be switched off (unless the effects play some special artistic part like sidechain or some special setting of reverb/equalizer. In other words, save all the «features» (unique author’s processing). DO NOT switch off any other effects. Save the automations. Peak volume should be under 0db.
  4. Rename the tracks correctly (Drums — Kick/Hat1/Snare; Instruments — Bass/Synth/Piano; Vocal — Lead,Back etc.).
  5. Vocals are accepted only put together (mind it when recording). No archives with a bunch of takes and outtakes allowed.
  6. In case of layering (instruments consisting of multiple layers) we recommend NOT DIVIDING into separate tracks before exporting and LEAVING the processing and volume balance untouched. Thus, you get only 1 instrument.
  7. Put the above-described files into folder with the name «multitrack — 128bpm», where 128bpm is the tempo of your project.
  8. Put separately from the folder above the preview of your track and 1-2 reference tracks (mp3 320kbps will do) that sound good to your ear and will be the example of what you want to get.
  9. Add the files to the archive with the name «#Order_number – Your email» (e.g. #1283 –
dj@yahoo.com) and upload it to our website by any mean convenient to you. Place and pay your order adding it to the cart and following the instructions of the system.

After processing you will get:

  • Wav 44100hz 16bit and Mp3 320kbps mastered files.
  • Wav 44100hz 24bit -6db mixed premaster file

Simplified instructions (in case you don’t really have basic technical knowledge)

Here’s what we need from you:

Separate Wav (or Aiff) tracks (sounds/instruments/samples) of your project.
1.2 Send full-length tracks (from 0:00:00 up to the end) — it is very important!
1.3 The tracks should not be too loud! Turn the volume down if you aren’t sure about it.
1.4 Create a folder with the name «multitrack» and put the tracks in there.

We will also need:

2.1 Rough copy of your whole track (one mp3 file will do)
2.2 Two tracks by other authors that sound good to your ears (mp3 files will do)
2.3 Create folder with the name «references and preview» and put the tracks described above in there.

Last but not least:

3.1 Send us a RAR archive with 2 folders («multitrack» and «references and preview») in it with the name «#Order_number – Your email» (e.g. #1283 –
dj@yahoo.com)

Stem-Mastering

Stem processing (Groups of instruments)

  • Deadline: 2-5 business days
  • Warranty: 30-60 days
  • 20% discount for orders with 3 or more tracks (Standard and Pro Pack plans)

Stem-Mastering (or sub-group mastering) is something in common between mastering and mixing. As against mastering the track is being processed finely. Stems are track parts such as drum track, bass track, guitar track, synth track and vocal track.

As against mixing all the parts (stems) of stem mastering shall be exported with available instrument processing. But as before master track shall be free of any limiters, compressors and equalizers.

This method allows a better saving of author intention. However as against mixing it is still inferior because it is impossible to intervene in instrument balance at this stage. Nevertheless stem mastering is significant lower budget than track- by-track rerecording.

How to prepare and send a track for Stem-Mastering?

Preparation for the stem-mastering is pretty much the same as for the mixing (the instructions above). The only difference is that you will have to export the instruments INCLUDING all the processing in groups. For example, drums = 1 track Drums. All vocals = Vocals, all instruments = Instruments, effects = Effects etc.

It is highly recommended to separate the Kick. Switch off everything from the Master section. Name your archive “#Order_number – Your email» (e.g. #1283 –
dj@yahoo.com)

After processing you will get:

  • Wav 44100hz 16bit and Mp3 320kbps mastered files.
  • Wav 44100hz 24bit -6db mixed premaster file

Vocal correction (tuning)

Vocals correction (tuning) is a diligent working on voice recordings that contain out-of-tune singing. Generally, very few people produce perfect recordings. Even world-class stars massively employ tuning while recording their albums. Within the process we try to fix all the mistakes made during the recording (tonal, tempo and even articulatory mistakes). Unfortunately, there are things that just can’t be fixed. For instance, you can’t fix quality of performer’s voice. If an artist can not sing at all, one will have to tune the voice extremely, which usually leads to «robotic» sounding.

This is an addition to Mixing and is charged extra.

Instruments correction is work on instrumental parts played out of tune. Mistuned or missed a note? Piece of cake! Note: sometimes we get some awful parts when the only remedy is re-recording. Please confirm if your recording can be corrected before placing your order.

How to prepare a DJ-mix for mastering?

Send us your mix with the same extension as track files are. If tracks are saved as mp3 send us mp3. If you are buying Wav files for mix compilation, send Wav files. It is desirable that the volume is under -3db. If your mix is excessively compressed we will not decompress it.
